Ballater is an excellent location for touring Royal Deeside and enjoying the Cairngorm National Park. Walking opportunities range from walks along the River Dee (a short stroll from the apartment) to mountain days in the Cairngorms. Cycle routes are many and varied; there are several excellent golf courses (the Ballater course is just at the end of the road); and more specialist interests such as fishing and horse riding are catered for.There is a wide range of excellent local art; and a trip to Balmoral could be combined with a visit to the Lochnagar Distillery. A wide selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways are within easy walking distance.
